i was looking at my old art trying to see if there’s another potential redraw but i ended up drawing my “sort of ocs but not really” XD to those who’ve never seen them; they’re my renditions of what haga and ryuzaki would look like/be if they had past lives in the memory world arc, including tragic backstories of being called “dead weight” among thieves, and dying alongside each other young

In which Ryuzaki takes Haga to see his home town and he (Ryuzaki) gets negatively influenced by his local friends.
I think Ryuzaki would get really rowdy and rude when hanging out with his friends back home. I don’t think he’d /mean/ to be mean, but he would would come off as very loud, crude, and aggressive; constantly horse playing with his friends and calling each other “dumbass” or “asshole”. Which would be really uncomfortable for Haga to see Ryu, who is usually more reserved around him, act out in that way.
It would make Haga think about how much Ryuzaki had changed since they started hanging out. Haga would get withdrawn from Ryu during the trip: not hanging out with him when his friends are around, refusing to go anywhere with Ryuzaki’s friends, and eventually refusing to hang out with Ryuzaki in general.
Ryuzaki however, wouldn’t notice a difference in how he was acting, not until Haga confronts him about it.
Ryuzaki: Hey four eyes, we’re gonna go out ta da lake. Come wit us.
Haga: I’m not going.
Ryuzaki: what? Why not? Come’on, dude, yer bein a drag. You’s been actin borin’ an stuck up since ya got here.
Haga: You’ve changed a lot.
Ryuzaki: Oh please, what da fuck is ya talkin about?
Haga: That, what you just said. The moment we got of the train and you saw those assholes you all friends, you started acting like a jerk.
Ryuzaki: I always act like dis around my friends? Ain’t no big fuckin deal.
Haga: Well it’s not how you act around me.(It’d be pretty gay)
Ryuzaki would get rly mad but when he thinks more on it and sees how withdrawn Haga is from him he’d apologize and ask Haga if he just wanted to go to the diner in town rather than going out with his other friends /w\
